3T - Ergonova Pro, 42cm, Black Review

The Ergonova Pro is a very good road bar with a compact bend. The result of this is that your hands aren't as low and at a shallower angle when riding in the drops or sprinting.

They also have features that make them good for riding in the hoods or on the tops.

In the hoods, they have an elongated profile before they start bending down. You can install the hoods in such a way as to create a fairly long straight section to place your hands. In fact you can ride all the way in the hoods, or with your hands closer to your body.

On top, the bar has an oval profile similar to many carbon fiber models with a cable groove on the bottom side. This makes the tops more comfortable both in shape and because the cables will be flatter and less noticeable, assuming you tape the tops.

One word of caution, these bars are narrower than others I've tried that are rated the same size. I normally ride a 42cm bar, and in this model they feel a bit narrow and indeed you can see they are narrow when measuring or visually comparing beside another handlebar.

I would suggest that you consider buying one size larger than what you normally would ride. Use your own judgement, however, as they are NOT a full size small and they do flare outwards 6 degrees in the drops. Where I notice the width issue most is when I use the bar tops which is only 10-15% of my riding time. Thus, I am not dissatisfied enough to buy wider bars or rate them less than 5 stars.

Regarding stiffness, I find them solid enough for sprinting hard. They are reasonably light for aluminum bars.
