I had a dream before I bought this backpack. I was sweating my way to a hostel with a tiny backpack and huge rolling luggage, when I looked up at the sun; I saw the Osprey logo shining through the light, and above the words "in this sign you shall conquer."

When I woke up, I thought about what this meant. Should I buy a 46L Osprey, the maximum allowed by the TSA for a carry on, or should I buy a 65L and check a bag?

I decided if I was going to conquer the world (or at least the slice of it where I was headed) I would need the extra 19L of space so I purchased this model in grey.

The first thing I noticed was the construction; the material is very sturdy and the zippers were quite large. It is also very sleek. Everything on the outside folds into the backpack: the normal shoulder straps, the sternum strap, the strap that hugs your waist, and the straps that can hold the shoulder straps closer to your back. I had quite a bit packed but with each adjustment I felt the weight distribute better and better until I felt like I was no longer carrying a heavy backpack but had instead eaten a few too many cheeseburgers over the course of my life. The handles located on the top and sides of the pack meant I could stow it all away and carry it like sleek, flat luggage if I wanted to or wanted to check it or stow it away.

It came out unscathed from my vacation despite all the abuse I put it through, and I don't think I could ask for better luggage. If there was anything I could change about my trip and packing experience, it would not be this. You can confidently buy this backpack or its little brother (which my friend took) for your travel needs.
