Two years in the making, we include smooth yet durable stainless steel gears with a drop down gear box, giving power and comfort to the reel. The drag system has been designed to with greased carbon fiber drag washers with Cal's multi-purpose drag grease. Comes with a fully adjustable Magnetic Cast Control System allowing you to cast your lever drag further and with much more control while reducing back-lashing. The Solterra comes in a 4.2:1 level wind model and a high speed non-level wind 6.2:1 model that is perfect for saltwater jigging.

Solidly built reel designed for trolling. I use these for catfish were we boat our baits out. These will cast short range, but this is not really their purpose. I am using with 100lb braid and with their stainless gears, they seem more than up to the job, and the lever drag is easy to use and works well. My only niggle is that in free spool there is no spool tensioning screw and you have to engage the lever drag very slightly or use the ratchet. Setting the lever drag so that min setting allows a tensioned free spool means that lever drag does not get to its max setting when fully engaged, and you can't really adjust it while playing a big fish. However, for the money they are unbeatable and the only left handed lever drag with level wind that I could find.
