Callaway RAZR X Black 5 Fairway Wood (Right Hand, Graphite, Ladies, 19) Review

I purchased the 3 Wood with a stiff shaft. As a point of reference, my driver swing speed is a pretty consistent 105mph and I'm a mid handicapper.

The day I received this club, I went to the range to give it a go. The range I go to uses these limited flight balls that tend to dive straight down after about 180 yards. Even with that factor, I was able to hit about 220 yards. With my old 3 wood, I would avarage about 240. So I was pretty happy with the distance since I figured I was hitting about the same distance if the balls were 'normal' balls. Beyond this, since this club has a bit of a draw bias, my hits were going very straight. I normally don't slice my 3 wood as much as my driver due to the higher loft, but it usually rears its ugly head every few hits. But with this club, I think I sliced twice out of about 50 balls hit. And they weren't even all that bad...more of a fade than a real slice. The last ball I hit on the range was a normal golf ball that had found its way into the range ball bucket....AND OMG. I blasted that ball to the back fence line (approx. 275 yards) with a carry of about 260. I've always been of the opinion that it's not the club but the person swinging the club...but upgrading from my 10 year old 3 wood to this has made a huge difference.

As for on the course...my scores haven't really improved much since my short game is pretty lame. But the distance has been consistent. I'm not blasting 275 with my 3 wood all the time but I can get over 250 consistently. My driver is not much farther...so considering this is straighter and almost as far, I've been using it off the teebox.

Great club. And...yes...I now own the 5 wood as well. I probably should get a new driver while I'm at it.
