FiveTen Men's Rogue Climbing Shoe,Black/Grey,10.5 Male US Review

The nastiest, stinkiest shoes I've ever owned. The material it's made of, presumably Petri Dish Fabric, absorbs tons of sweat. If you take them off between climbs, you'll be treated with cold, sopping wet shoes when you put them back on. No matter what you do, your doom is set.

THE STINK.

Yes, all climbing shoes stink. But this one, after only a week or two, can clear a gym. Something about the material absorbs sweat and incubates bacteria. I've sprayed and powdered them, scrubbed them, washed them, hung them out to dry in the sun for days. You still can't come within 5 feet of them without your eyes burning. No other shoes I've had were that bad.

So, despite the fact that they were pretty good shoes (VERY sticky!) I'm abandoning them for some cheaper La Sportiva shoes to rid myself of the massive stench. I'd burn them if not for fear of an EPA retaliation.

Non-smell wise, they climbed ok. I had to have the straps so far over that they scraped on the floor, but perhaps I had them too small. They seemed to stretch out a bit, since it was painful to edge with them at first, now they feel too loose all the time.

They're probably good to climb in if you have prosthetic feet that do not sweat.
