This rating is for the tent and tarp floor together.
This is an awesome set up. It is light, easy to pack and not bad to set up. I do suggest a few practice runs at setting it up before you actually take it out camping. We didn't. We backpacked through parts of umpqua national forest in central Oregon and it rained the whole time we were soaked all day our only reprieve from the rain was the tent it held up great and kept us dry at night. Plus it got down to the high 20s in temperature. The only thing I didn't really care for is the gap at the bottom of the tent were it joins the tarp floor there is a 3 to 4 inch gap around the perimeter of the tent. We woke in the morning with huge spiders sleeping in the tent with us. We figured it was a fair trade for keeping us dry. Plus bugs and spiders don't really bother us. As far as room goes it held me (6'2") Chris (6'4") my son 4'1") he is only 6 not a midget. Lol. And all of our gear. It has a lot of room. I would definitely recommend this tent for backpacking.
