Overall, this knife is a beautifully executed piece, equally suited for the collector or user.
My only gripes are cosmetic as the green Micarta handle, at least on my example, was not as green as the photos I've seen on various sites including Amazon. What the photos can't discern is the khaki underlying the green grain of the fabric which causes the handle to almost appear said color under certain lighting conditions.
The second gripe I have is with the flip-side of the blade. It sports a nice etched "Schanz" logo which agrees with me, but also includes a rather large "440C" marking and a small "Made in Taiwan" mark by the guard. While such markings are to be expected, they take away from the overall cleanly styled design of the knife. I'm thinking of laser etching over these marks with a complementary design or just overwriting the whole area entirely.
Lastly, the fit on the Micarta handle was not perfectly aligned with the tang and appears to be evened with some sort of injected material. It's not evident to the glance, but does reveal itself upon closer inspection.
I can live with all these issues for the price paid, and am very satisfied with my purchase. As long as one doesn't expect the quality of a German made
Boker, I expect you'll be equally pleased.
